Biography

The Process

The Process of creating a Rendering of a Rug Design is a collaborative effort between the Designer and the Client. It starts with a clear objective of what the Client wants in a Design and how it will fit in their Project.

The Consultation

1) Design: a Discussion of what the Design will be working with; fabrics; wallpapers; photo references

2) Colors: deciding what the main colors will be; accent colors; color placement. Picking color poms and matching to fabrics and wallpapers used in the project

3) Scale: Deciding the size of the Design motifs; border width; size of the Design repeats

Design Creation

I will take all the materials and information and set out to Design the Rug, sometimes doing a number of variations for the Client to choose from.

I will present these option to the Client to review and if revisions are requested I will make adjustments until the Client is satisfied.

Final Presentation

The final rendering will be in a standard scale with a color bar and information bar ready for the carpet mill for production. Floor plans and photo texture mapping for the client presentation can also be provided.
